World-class surfing resumes in Siargao
Surfers may now again ride through the world-class barreling waves at the famous surfing spot Siargao Island as the provincial government of Surigao Del Norte finally allowed the conduct of some non-contact sports after its transition to modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
In an executive order released by Governor Atty. Francisco Matugas last May 30, the modified guidelines for the relaxation of quarantine measures included surfing as one of the non-contact sports which will finally be allowed, provided that the residents and local tourists will continue to observe the minimum public health standards set by the health department.
